During its 25 years, Coastal Hotel Group has solidified a national reputation as an innovator in developing, managing and marketing distinctive lodging destinations. Led by three distinguished industry veterans with more than eighty years combined experience, the focus is on relentless, hands-on execution by CHG’s core executive team to continually improve asset value for hotel owners. Although this seasoned management group has a proven track record among all segments of the industry, its niche is upscale lodging.
In 2006, Coastal’s three principals – Yogi Hutsen, Peter LaFemina and Ed Schwitzky – formed an investment group with three other veteran hospitality leaders to acquire the company. CHG is now a privately held, Seattle-based third-party hospitality management company specializing in distinctive luxury boutique hotels, destination resorts, inns and lodges.
Today, Coastal Hotel Group manages five independent lodging properties – the quintessentially northwest Cedarbrook Lodge in Seattle, Washington; Portland’s urban retreat, River’s Edge Hotel & Spa; the contemporary Hotel Fifty, also in Portland, Oregon; one of the Northwest’s premier destination resorts, The Resort at The Mountain in Welches (Mt. Hood), Oregon and the historic landmark boutique Lodge on the Desert in Tucson, Arizona – plus the most recent addition to the CHG portfolio, the Best Western Plus Heritage Inn in Bellingham, Washington. Each is unique and special, with the common attribute of providing personal attention to the needs, wants and expectations of every guest.
